I live in a condominium and I pay about $220 monthly for dues to the homeowner’s association. The association is completely independent and represents the 115 units on the property. The dues also cover the water, sewer and garbage services in addition to landscaping, exterior maintenance, etc.
Can I deduct my association dues for the year?

A homeowner signed a contract with us to remodel their kitchen and bathroom. We hired two subcontractors: an electrician and a plumber to do work at their house. Now the homeowner wants to see bills/contracts between our company and the subcontractors we hired. Does he have any right to see our company’s bills/contracts between us and the subcontractors we hired? The contract does state that any communications to the subcontractor from the homeowner has to be done through the contractor. Any help would be appreciated since we are new to the business.

Is there any legal way for me to pay the homeowner and/or for the realtor to get paid?
Or is this illegal altogether? Does anyone know what the law explicitly states?

I know if it’s a minor they can but what if it’s an adult who does it, does the homeowner bear any responsibility for the drunk persons actions? I know bars do and can be fined for allowing someone to over indulge.

Can a homeowners association board member solicit complaints against a homeowner with out being contacted with a complaint first?
Can I sue the homeowners association or the individual?

What would be the most beneficial things to fix to add value to our house? It needs many things but what would be best?

Sod (dirt and stickers now)
Carpet(replace or tear out and let the new owners put flooring in)
A/C (needs new handler)
Kitchen cabinets (particle board that is falling apart)
Windows (old and not all working right)
We just want to fix some things but can only afford to do a little at a time while adding value to house. Right now I see “AS IS” in our future sale ad….I would at least like it to read “needs a little TLC” So what would be the first things you would fix?

What will be the homeowner position in this situation with the Bank or IRS? Do they has to know the intentions of the homeowner to rent this house?

I rent a condo in a complex that has a Board who is trying to enforce no skateboards, scooters, bikes, etc.. I have been there for 3 1/2 years and my neighbors who have been there longer than that have stated that this has never been enforced. There is a sign at the entrance to the complex that states that these items are not allowed to be rode. This sign has been there forever and nobody has ever enforced it. Last week a homeowner had a spat with a Board member, and now all of a sudden they are trying to enforce a “sign”. But there is no rule. I’m sure when the residents start showing out about it, the Board will have the rule put in the Rules and Regulations. How can we (renters and homeowners) prevent that?

I have heard that when placing an offer on a home it is a good idea to include a letter to the homeowner explaining why you want to buy their home. That it may give you more leverage as to whether or not your offer is accepted. Is there any truth to this?

I have a homeowner who claims anything said on my Yahoo site is subject to a lawsuit. The site carries the name of the Community; however, I have the Community Board’s permission to use it. BTW, this particular homeowner already has a few lawsuits pending again the Homeowners Association!
