I have a PSP, I have games downloaded on the computer ready to play, problem is my PSP is version 5.02, now it wont play the games. What do I do (step by step) to be able to play these games?

i dont think you can do it that way anymore because 5.02 has introduced the plastation store which is where sony want everyone to get their games from now
sorry they just want to earn more monies

you can get free psp games to put on your memory stick
all you need is a memory card,over 512 mb to hold all the games,
windows xp(you can use a friends if you need to)(put all the folders you need on the psp and use windows xp to run them)
winrar to open the custom firmware files,
and a usb cable to connect your psp to the computer.
You must be willing to cut open not your psp but your battery…
if you screw up just get another battery (and its not are fault)
you can lots of free stuff from it like
psp,gba and nes games on your psp for free
and homebrew which is custom made games by yes, ordinary people
To get custom firmware follow theese steps…
1. download this link (note you will need winrar for this)
2.Open up folder and run the autorun folder
3.Finish the setup and turn your battery into the pandoras battery
(you will need to look up how to make a pandoras battery on youtube for that part)
4.The setup will run, then you restore your battery
5.You will have custom firmware!
Make sure after you have custom firmware you turn on your umd iso mode to m33 driver by pressing select on the main screen and changing it by selecting it till it changes to m33 driver
Also you can change some of your options by selecting reset device on this menu and holding R to get to the recovery menu
heres a link to get all your free psp games (need custom firmware) just sign up…put them in the newly formed iso folder
you can also get free ps1 games on also…just download them and put them in your game150 folder
than for homebrew go to this one…
it includes also the emulators for gba and nes and more
put them both in the game 150 folder

make a rom folder and put it in the emulator folder
then put your roms in it

I have been researching this topic for a very long time. I have found that it is best to not do the pandoras battery, it may infect the system with a virus, that I think Sony put out, that renders the psp a useless paper weight when downgrading. What I recomend is if you have lots of money floating around by a phat version with 2.00 system software or lower, It makes it much easier to transfer it to a “hacker’s” system software. If you want to take the risk its your choice.
