I am about to buy a toyota cressida and this guys says that the drive line is bad and needs to be fixed. He wants like 300 for the car and another 300 to fix it. I’m know alittle thing about fixing cars but can I fix it myself? Or can I take it somewhere else?

both cv joints fair price parts are about 150
~$75 each for the axles (rebuilt) and another hour and a half’s labor to install. Plus you may lose some tranny fluid when the axles are pulled, so you’ll need to replace that.
not sure what your calling a “drive line.”
Cressida has cv axles. I wouldn’t suggest someone to replace them without experience.
If it’s the transmission whether it’s manual or automatic I wouldn’t either. If the cars engine is good and you have parts available. I would say purchase the car and take it some place else.
