The maintenence would depend on the type of pool. An inground pool would take more maintenence because there are more things included with it. But with every pool you have to maintane the filter and liner and the cleanleness. The pool is expensive regulary and if there is something wrong with the filter and the liner it is costly to replace it. Then the most important is the cleaning. Cleaning requires a net and a little robot. The net you can get anywhere at a low price but the robot is what you need to worry about. The robot is around $100. It drives itself around the bottom of the pool and sucks up any crud at the bottom such as mold and slime. It works as a vacum. In my experience it is deffinetly wroth getting a pool if you live in a hot place like florida and can use it year round, but if not you might want to reconsider and purchase a lesser, blow-up pool.
