its not a problem at all if you use septic safe products and dont have excessive use…you will never know its there…but when you buy the house, make sure it is inspected and cleaned before closing….
I’ll go along with Dzonz and say the same thing. Make sure you have an escrow account for the tank or have it inspected, don’t take anyone word for it. It will cost the same for pumping, have it inspected by a firm that pumps. About $75.00.
I have a 1200 gallon tank and large drain field. Mine was pumped 40 years ago, I just had it pumped for the first time since then. Unless someones lying that is. Using products such as yeasts does little for what use your getting. If the tank is in good condition and you use it the right way it should take care of itself. These products are for problem tanks and, they are of little use like I said. Check with any of the tank suppliers in the area.
Actually the cost is relative to usage and size of the unit. With our family of 4, we have the septic professionaly pumped every 18 months. This will prevent any problems with any overfill flowing into the tile fields[water displacement} Of course, you need to be sure that only the correct things are flushed.
As far as cost, here in Mi.,the pumping cost is less than $200.

If it is a newer system that was correctly put together, and you use products safe for a septic system you’ll be fine.
